jpype version

Asked by Eric Earnst

Hi,
In https://answers.launchpad.net/jaydebeapi/+question/230588 , Bastian said to use the version of jpype from https://github.com/originell/jpype .

in general, should we be using that version instead of the original from http://sourceforge.net/projects/jpype/ ?

Thanks,
Eric

You currently don't have to *generally* use https://github.com/originell/jpype. It depends on the jdbc driver you are using. The sourceforge jpype version has some issues that are fixed in originell's jpype version on github.

There are also easy_installable or pip installable versions of the github version if you use the name jpype1 for easy_install/pip. But you have to wait for the next jpype1 release which will contain some bugfixes required by some jdbc drivers.

In the future I might drop sourceforge jpype support. But there will be at least one more JayDeBeApi release with support for it.

BTW: JayDeBeApi development just shiftet to github as well. Search for jaydebeapi :)
