Percona server/patches

Asked by Jonathan Bayer

I want to be able to upgrade mysql to the same level as Percona Server. Problem is that Percona server forces the uninstall of mysql, and that breaks a bunch of stuff.

Will I be able to apply the Percona patches to the sources for mysql on this site and rebuild the RPMs?

Thanks

Hello Jonathan,

Thanks for your report, unfortunately I don't believe there will be much we will be able to do on the IUS side.

It sounds like you are saying Percona forces a removal of the package "mysql" which is what IUS packages need to provide (this keeps IUS packages inline with Redhat and avoid any issues with dependencies).

If there is a said patch that Percona provides please provide a link and I'll review for possible inclusion.

Thanks
Jeffrey
