Inkscape

can't change language interface

I went into Inkscape preferences and then to interface. I changed the language to Spanish and restarted the computer. I went back into Inkscape and everything was still in English. I checked and the language preference was still Spanish. I restarted the computer again. Still no change. Is it actually possible to get all the headings, etc. into Spanish? Thanks for the help.

Hi Sandy,

Did you install the Spanish language with the installer? If you have skipped this step, Inkscape allows you to select Spanish in its interface, but since the appropriate file is not installed, it reverts to English.
To fix it, reinstall Inkscape, and add Spanish when the installer asks if you want to install an additional language.

Thanks. I don't actually need Spanish, but I'm trying to figure it out for
a friend of mine who wants the program and doesn't speak English. I will
tell him what you said. Thank you for your help. :-)
