Idownloaded your program for free expecting there to be a trial period. I have not found anything that says that I have xx number of days to register. Is your program free or will it require me to register after a period of time? If I do need to register in the future, can you tell me what the cost will be? I think InkScape is an excellent program. I have been watching the internet series called Pixel Perfect where Burt Monroy demonstrates the use of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe photo shop. From what I can tell, your program does everything that Adobe Illustrator does. Adobe Illustrator costs around $500.00. If your program is free, I want to thank you because I don't have enough money to purchase a $500 program. I am currently using the program as a hobby and not for business.

Yes, Inkscape is fully free to use, share, modify and distribute. It is Open Source, thus you can even get the source code and do your own modifications (as long as you share those, in turn). You are also free to use it for commercially to produce work for others.

Other Open Source programs you might want to look at include Scribus (for page layout and publishing), GIMP and Krita (for Photo work), and Blender (for 3D work).

Free Open Source Software (FOSS) rocks - it's even better the more people contribute. I can't program well enough to help there so I try to answer questions here (and elsewhere), report bugs thoroughly, test new versions and be an advocate for Inkscape and FOSS generally.

Even if you can only use the application you can help the FOSS movemement by uploading your best designs to the OpenClipart Library at http://www.openclipart.org/ .

Can you help with this problem?
