relative links are nt preserved

Asked by Arch Dude

When I use the "create link" and "link properties" to add a URI to an object, I can add an href that is a "relative URI" in compliance with with (what I interpret to be) the letter and the spirit of the SVG and XML standards. When I save the document, this relative URI is preserved. This lets me create a link from an object in the file "main.svg" to a file in the same location in the URI hierarchy: e.g,, in the same directory. This a very basic requirement for creating suites of SVG images that link to each other or to other documents in a hierarchy.

When I copy and paste such an object, The link href in the copy becomes "absolutized" in some fashion by the copy/paste process. This is not good.

When I use the "color markers to match stroke" extension on ANY path in the document, then ALL relative link hrefs in the document get converted to absolute. This is very not good.

I raise this as a separate question because there is a semi-related question abotu image links, but I cannot tell for sure that this is really the same issue: ti does not mention the "link properties" dialog or the "color markers to match stroke" extension.

How can I specify a relative link so that this does not happen?

This sounds like you have encountered two separate bugs, since the relative linking should be preserved. Please be sure bugs are entered for the case on copy-n-paste and the case of the extension being used.

Thanks.
