How to place a .tiff file in xink from destktop

I am using Parallels on a Mac and I'm trying to paste a tiff file from my desktop into Xink. How do I do this?

Well, the first factor is that you should probably not be using a tiff image file. These were once the preferred format for desktop and professional publishing, but suffered from fragmentation of optional formats. More importantly, any given SVG viewer is only required to support PNG, JPEG and SVG for linked images. Anything else is not portable aka "safe".

For linking, generally drag-n-drop has been the safer way to ensure an image gets linked in. Recent versions of OS X have also changed behavior a bit on the clipboard integration, so extra steps might be needed.
