how to do an overlay

i AM HAVING TROUBLE FIGURING OUT HOW TO DO AN OVERLAY WITH THIS SOFTWARE. i WANT TO HAVE LETTERS WITH A YELLOW BACKGROUND AND A BLACK MAINBODY. ANY IDEAS

I am not sure I understand what effect you want to achieve - do you have a link to a sample that illustrates what you mean by 'OVERLAY'?

simple idea - draw yellow box, then type some black text on it.
is it work? letters are deeply black and background is pretty yellow..
