How to create a simple working script?

I Need to do a python script for Inkscape.. is vital for a job that I have in mind.

The script should be do the followin:

1. Duplicate selected objects
2. Combine all of these objects into a newone object.
3. Join all de correspondent objects by his end nodes

Can Anyone help me?
I cant do nothing in this moment, couse, I dont know how python works with Inkscape.
