Tracing a crash and recovering an SVG vector document. Help wanted.

Asked by post16

I've had an SVG file corrupted when Inkscape crashed. How do I trace the issue, get help, and recover the vector work?

When I try to open the requested file, I get the following error:

"Failed to load the requested file X:\GeneralWork\New Folder\BizCardTtouch_v1.01.svg"

I've looked at the file in an XML editor, and it is not well formed. In fact, the file appears to be truncated.
May I upload it for someone who's a "fundi" (Zimbabwean for a pro) to look at and possibly fix? How do I attach a file to this request?

Unfortunately you can't attach files in the 'Questions' section of Launchpad. You could use one of the many 'pastebin' services that allow to temporarily store code snippets and text files (similar to the better known services for images)

<http://pastebin.com/>
<http://pastebin.mozilla.org/>
<http://paste2.org>
<http://paste.ubuntu.com/>

Thank you Suv,
I've posted the file for all to see at

http://pastebin.com/m2b9f8060

The file is unlikely to be recoverable, but I have to hold hope, as there was a lot of work that went in to it.
The XML just truncates at line 233!

hi - download what could be recovered from <http://pastebin.com/m2cc23c07>, save it with .svg as file ending and open it with Inkscape... Did a lot get lost during the crash?
