Inkscape 0.47pre3 does not start on Windows 7 build 7100

I just installed 0.47pre3 on Windows 7 build 7100. A few seconds after launching the application it comes back with:

"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application.

I'm running the 64bit version Windows 7 on an Intel Duo Core Dell notebook.

I tried changing the compatibility of the application to no avail.

OK this might not be related to the pre3 build at all.
I reverted to an older build and got the same error message. :(
After restarting my system, I ran the pre3 build again and it worked fine.

Aargh.
