i have inkscape 0.46 should i download autotrace and frontline? and what do i need to do after i had download these?

why you need to do that? autotrace is 'bundled' into Inkscape afair.
try Path-Trace Bitmap

also I propose to you use last version from
http://inkscape.chrismorgan.info/win32-builds/ (if you use Win OS)
or https://edge.launchpad.net/~inkscape-nightly/+archive/ppa (for *.deb
Ubuntu packages)
