Is the latest version of inkscape (4.7) able to open eps files?

Asked by randoogle

I know this question has been asked before on several other occasions, but many of the questions are old (with people referring to dev versions of 0.46). Is 0.47 able to open (or import) eps files by default? The eps file I just tried would not open. It's the facebook eps file: http://www.facebook.com/images/pages/Facebook_Badge_02_24_2009.eps

I am currently running Inkscape 0.47pre2 r22153, built Aug 24 2009 on Windows XP.

Inkscape 0.47(pre2) still need 'ps2pdf' for EPS input - 'ps2pdf' is part of Ghostscript:

More technical details in Bug #227449 in Inkscape: “Runtime Error when loading specific .eps file”:
