How to set a colour background?

Hi,
I am designing a leaflet where I have a colour background and then circles and text.
How do I set the background to be of any colour? Do i have to draw an A4 paper shape and then fill it in? That would be a bit of hussle and not precise.
Please help!

Shift+Ctrl+D (or File~>Document Properties) then tab 'Page' and 'Background'.
