Where is eraser ?

How to erase a line to draw new one.

hello

default eraser hotkey is Shift+E
also eraser could be checked from left toolbar. I marked it with red border --> http://smages.com/i/34/be/34be5b657bac4af84f4b6960d6442f50.png

The Eraser tool that Oleg pointed out is actually only in (the as yet unreleased) inkscape 0.47.

If there is just a single line that you want to remove, simply select it with the select tool (the select tool can be accessed by pressing F1), and press delete.

The new eraser tool in inkscape 0.47 is useful for deleting multiple objects with one swipe.
