Can't use arc as line corner

Asked by John Dugeen

I'm trying to use a 6-pixel wide arc (from 270 deg to 0 deg) as a rounded corner between two 6-pixel wide lines which are at right angles.

It won't work because the arc actually gets drawn from about 272 deg to 358 deg, so its ends aren't horizontal and vertical and they won't butt up neatly against the line ends.

It sort of works if I change the arc to be 268-2 deg, but why don't I get a 270-0 deg arc when I ask for one?

Hello, John!

Yes, you right about that issue. I think it could be bug.

But there is one trick: use Round Cap option for arc and it will be fit with line seamlessly.

There is window, showing that option - http://imagebin.org/58472
And result - http://imagebin.org/58473

Also you could try next thing to prove that bug - draw rectangle with round corners, convert it to path, select all nodes and 'Break path at selected nodes' - here it is - seams between paths. but try now my trick - voila, it seamless.

Hope it will help you

Cheerz, Oleg
