how to type negative numbers?

Asked by lwright

I am trying to draw a graph in inkscape, and need to put negative numbers on the axes lables. However, within a text box, every time i type a negative, i just get zoomed. Putting on the capslock stops the zooming, but it still doesn't type the minus sign. Is there any way to do this?? Thanks!

This sounds like a bug report rather than a question.

Anyhow, it doesn't really help but it works fine for me in Inkscape 0.47pre0 r21549, built Jun 12 2009 on Kubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty).

Perhaps you could select the text box and use Ctrl-Shift-T then select the "text" tab and enter your text in there. Alternative type the minus numbers into a text editor (notepad.exe or kwrite or gedit, etc.) and use copy-paste to enter them in the text objects.
