why can't I print directly from Inkscape?

I can see my printer when I click print but then it disappears and won't do anything. What am I doing wrong?

Which OS do you use? I guess windows. Maybe you encounter similar trouble - https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/212921 ?

In any case - try to install latest version (0.47pre atm released at sourceforge).

p.s. And always solution is render your image as bitmap and print it then :)
