Using Brock Script and cannot get it to be bold.

Have selected text. Went up to the B and selected to bold. Did not work.
Have also slected text and used control B to bold. Did not work. Need this to match
another project done by someone else.

Often the bold version of a font is distributed as a separate file ... in which case Inkscape can't bold the text. Some programs will make a mock bold when one doesn't really exist (Openoffice.org does I think) so ability to bold in other applications won't necessarily tell you if the bold is available to the operating system (and hence to Inkscape).

You can use Path > Outset (or Path > Dynamic Offset) to make your own mock bold - this will convert the text into a path so make it the last action you do once you've got the text right.

I use Path > Outset and edit using the XML view to change the amount of Outset as I find this a more precise method than dragging the Dynamic Offset handle. If this last para means nothing to you ignore it and use the method above.
