transparency

I am trying to create a transparency from solid color to a transparent color within the same image, I do not know what tool to use and how to achieve my goal.

Can you explain in more detail what you are trying to do? What kind of document or image file are you trying to create?

Are you trying to create a gradient?

Keyboard shortcut g - click and drag to create a gradient... one end can be a solid colour - the other end can be another colour, or totally transparent.
