Left ruler is garbled

Asked by inkburger

1.
My ruler at the right side is too thin: With only 2 px I can pick guides out of it but I can not read the numbers on it. Is it a bug of Ubuntu, Inkscape or only a wrong preferences
(Ubuntu 9.04 / Inkscape 0.46)

How can I make the vertical ruler as width as the horizontal (height :-)

try deleting you inkscape preferences, you'll find them here:

/home/{user}/.conf/Inkscape

delete the whole Inkscape folder, it will be recreated next time you launch Inkscape, if you added extensions or templates don't forget do backup them.

you could also compile le latest unstable development version, it works great with a lot of new features of the upcoming 0.47, it's very easy to compile, follow the instructions on this link, it's as simple as copy/pasting the given command lines in your terminal:

Hello Rico

Many thanks for your answer.

But it doesn't work: After "rm -r ~/.inksc*" nothing changed. (Its strange: The last 6 month inkscape 0.46 worked fine. The "only" thing I changed is the update from Ubuntu 8.1 to 9.04. )

Now I try your 2. tip. Hope it works: Inkscape is such a *great* program - it HAS to work ;-)

Greetings from the dreamily Schewtzingn, Germany (therefore my bad English ;-)
