ClarisDraw .cdd files import

Asked by xavier7

Hi!
It would be great to import ClarisDraw files.

I've just received archival files and since ClarisDraw is no longer developped for windows, i can't use them.

Thanks for your time

For feature requests and bug reports, please use the bug tracker at https://inkscape.org/report .

That said:

- third-party formats can only be added to Inkscape if either:
  - there already is some kind of open source import library available somewhere
 - or at least, it's an open and documented file format

And then, there needs to be someone interested in implementing it.

Personally, I've never heard of the program that has caught you in the 'abandonware trap' (https://gitlab.com/Moini/Linux-Flyer/-/blob/master/images/LinuxPresentationDay-Flyer.png) , so I dare predict that chances are slim, unless you find someone who will implement it for you.

Just some ideas:

1. According to http://www.purgatorydesign.com/Intaglio/history.html the mac program intaglio might be able to open ClarisDraw files (89 USD, free test version available)

2. Maybe it is possible to do "reverse engineering" of the files.
What is the output of the commands

file name_of_a_cdd_file
head -c 512 name_of_a_cdd_file | hd

Can you help with this problem?
