Snap on transform-center

Is it possible to activate a snap on transform-center, not on object-center? (Or any other moveable (but remembered) point of an object?)

I have various irregularily formed objects, but each of them have a special point when snapped to the grid, the objects gets aligned.

Yes, if you activate the corresponding item 'snap to object's rotation center' and the 'snap to grids' item in the snap controls bar.
