Any chance of a surround selection with dotted line quick action feature? This is used a lot in engineering and may give an edge.

Sorry, what is a 'dotted line quick action feature'? Can you elaborate?

I assume you don't mean simple lasso selection and highlighting of the current selection by a frame, because that's what is there by default...
