i cannot get "layers" to open on my Imac

the keystrokes or icon will not open "layers", how do i work around this ?

1. Have you scrolled down in the dock, to find any dialogs below those currently displayed?

2. Look into the dock on the right. Is there an icon, or an icon and text, probably typed out vertically, and when you click on it, the dialog expands?

sure enough. . . right there, vertical on the boarder. . . getting old ain't easy. . . . thank you very much
