SVG files do not show up on windows explorer: is it on my computer only?

Asked by Loony Skild

Hello everyone,

No .svg file is displayed in my windows explorer when I save my inkscape project, although the files remain accessible from Inkscape (and Inkscape only).
Even using windows shell (command DIR), the file are not listed by windows explorer. Invisible!

Yet, inkscape shows that these files are in the folders! I tried a couple of folders, always the same: Inkscape "knows" they are there, windows explorer doesn't.

I have hidden files shown and system files shown as well, does not change anything...

First time I see this kind of behaviour. I looked here and there in the FAQ, Google for similar experience but so far could not find anyone with this.

Does anyone know about this issue?

I found the answer: Comodo Firewall does not recognize Inkscape as a known application, and auto-contain its files.
Therefore, all files generated are in a virtual environment (=sandbox) not accessible from the work environment (windows explorer in my case)

And for the last detail of the story, I found the files saved by Inkscape and virtualized by Comodo in the following folder:
C:\VTRoot\HarddiskVolume\Temp
