Native (Quartz) interface for macOS

Asked by Michael schnaitter

Has there been any interest or work done in implementing native Quartz support on macOS? I have tried to use the +quartz variant of inkscape via MacPorts on Mojave, but the window does not render correctly. Since GTK+ supports Quartz, it may be trivial to modify some of the interface code so that it works well on macOS with a more native feel and functionality than doing it via XQuartz.
