Is it correct what middle mouse button do in node edit tool?

Asked by user

One more question :)

Middle mouse button is used to pan view when pressed and mouse moved. View pans immediately when I press MMB while moving it with selection tool enabled. But there is some difference when node edit tool is active.

I must press MMB first while mouse is not moving and then move it to pan view. i.e. I can't pan when I press MMB while moving my mouse. It's hard to control if mouse is moving or not when you presses the button.

It is very useful to pan view while editing curve... but this difference disturbs.

Seems that only new builds have this difference in MMB interpretation. 0.46+devel r20539, built Jan 19 2009 version doesn't contain it, but 0.46+devel r21115, built Apr 10 2009 does. (builds from http://inkscape.modevia.com/win32/)

Is Inkscape right?

Thanks.

I just compiled the SVN version and I can't reproduce that.
Anyway, this is not the right place to report bugs. Please close this question and move to the "Bugs" section

Sorry if my reply sounded a little bit harsh. :-)
I mean, this seems to be a bug (if you consider that the previous behavior was the right and now it doesn't work).
In that case, the right place to report is the bugs section.
Ok, now it looks nicer. :-D

Thanks, Guillermo, your answers looks very nice :)

I will wait for new build for windows and if this will take place again I report a bug.

Thanks again.
