integration with LaTeX

Asked by Brian Cowan

I would like to display InkScape-SVG images in LaTeX. It seems a clever way to do this would be to have a "eps" save format option that contains both the SVG and the EPS information. So LaTeX would see the file as an EPS file but InkScape would see the SVG information. Then loading it into InkScape, one could edit the SVG and upon saving the file both SVG and EPS information would be updated. Is this possible? - could it be possible with an add-on? Or is it completely crazy?

I don't think this will work. However, there are other options for using Latex and Inkscape together.

https://inkscape.org/en/~jcwinkler/%E2%98%85textext
https://inkscape.org/en/~seebk/%E2%98%85latextext-render-latex-in-inkscape

and the built-in options that you can find when you do
File > Save a copy...

Hope one of those will be useful for you!

Thank you for this comment - I understand.

Another possibility would be to have a save `format' whereby a SVG and an EPS file is saved (with same name).

I am surprised that SVG render is not possible in LaTeX - particularly as 1) this is an increasingly accepted vector graphics format and 2) all web browsers have SVG render so computers will have this. (But of course this is not an InkScape issue).

Can you help with this problem?
