I'm drawing block diagrams. Each block is a rectangle with a text label. The text label should be centered.

It would be nice if inkscape provided such an object.

I'd use something like a UML or flowchart application instead of Inkscape, YMMV.

Umbrello is pretty good for block diagrams as are OOo Draw, Kivio and Dia. I think all of these output SVG if you want then to take the file and add some finesse to it.

Just checked and Dia does SVG output (File > Export) but Kivio doesn't. OOo Draw does.

Umbrello does I'm pretty sure but not tested.

Can you help with this problem?
