how to add more than one photo

My Mother passed away so I want to take a picture of my Mom , put her in the center. A picture of my brother that passed away, and then the other 4 of us kids and make something really beautiful. How do I get the other five pictures in there at different places ?

You might try going through the tutorials found in the Inkscape help menu, but GIMP might be a better choice for this project.
