Export svg to synfig (sif) format from terminal

Asked by Ashok Koyi

I need to translate fontawesome icons from native svg format to sif format. I know that inkscape allows us to export svgs to sif using UI. Is there a way to do the same export from terminal so that I can write a script to do this conversion

For some strange reason inkscape allows exports from terminals to only a predefined set of formats, tho the code is generic enough to support any export format

Thanks

The extension responsible for this export is at https://github.com/nikitakit/svg2sif

As far as I know, it's not possible currently to use the 'Save as' dialog without opening it in the GUI and requiring user input.

There are so-called Xverbs available (http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Using_xverbs), but suspect they won't work for anything other than SVG (but you could try, I haven't).
