can't connect to clip art library

Asked by Marie Thomas

I am trying to import clip art into inkscape on my windows. It used to work fine, but I haven't used the program in 6 months and now the clip art always says, "Could not connect to the Open Clip Art Library" anytime I search anything. I uninstalled the program from my computer and then reinstalled it. I went to preferences input/output "open clip art" and made sure it has openclipart.org in it and even tried creating a login, but nothing is working it still won't connect. I should have access to the clip art. What else can I do?

The openclipart.org website had some problems in the last day, it wasn't reachable a lot of the time.

So, nothing you can do except try again.

Additionally, to get rid of many bugs that plague the Windows version, I'd suggest updating your Inkscape version. See https://inkscape.org/en/release/0.92.3/windows/ (the release notes appear when you select a file).

I did update to .92.3, but I guess open clip art library still isn't working today....annoying, but guess I can't do anything about it.

Thanks!

For me, it loads at the moment.

Anyway, you can still visit the website directly - which is more convenient, too, as you get more search results and a better overview.
Just go to https://openclipart.org

You can try to contact https://hum2d.com/ clipart library, they have a very large collection of car clipart. When contacting technical support, you can ask for a solution to your issue.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Marie Thomas for more information if necessary.
