slow working

app working too slow on my amd ryzen7 1700x, only 1 logical core in use (16 logical cores on board) when I work in inscape… pls help me to fix this problem

What's in your drawing? Can you share a file? How are you working with it?

Generally speaking, these things can cause Inkscape to be slower than is possible:

- filters (can be fixed by changing some preferences or the view mode)
- many nodes (can be fixed by simplifying paths)
- many objects (can be fixed by using clones, when possible, and hiding layers)
- a bug with the objects dialog - as soon as it has been opened once in Inkscape (can be closed later), its performance will go down.
- snapping (can be deactivated when it's not needed)
- working at high zoom levels when not necessary (zoom out)
- maximizing the Inkscape window on huge screens (make window smaller)
- using many path effects (sometimes people use path effects without actually needing them - either remove them, or flatten the paths)
- lots and lots of text (use a DTP program or an office suite, or convert text to paths when you don't need to edit it anymore)
