Saving Files

When i save a file as a DXF or SVG in inkscape it saves as a 5H file or File. It is hard to find them. It use to work properly. What have I done to cause this problem? And more importantly how do I fix this problem?

If you save your file like this (mind the red boxes):

then it's going to be saved as an .svg file.

Or maybe the problem is that it's not opened with Inkscape automatically when you double-click on the file name?
