Inkscape unexpectedly crashed, before I could save my work. How do I recover it

Asked by Bailey Komer

Good Afternoon, My name is Bailey and I am with Superior Metal Worx. I have just begun using your program and learning all of its basic functions. I was in the midst of using the program when it unexpectedly crashed, and I lost 6 hours worth of work on our company logo. I had assumed auto-save was on, and sadly I was very wrong. So, I need some way or forum that will bring it back so I can finish. Its very important.

Thank you!

If Inkscape hasn't notified you that it has made a backup at the time of the crash (when that works, you get a pop-up dialog), then there isn't any.

Always save after each valuable step. Ctrl+S. You can turn on autosave, too, of course.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Bailey Komer for more information if necessary.
