This isn't the first question about signcut not working well anymore.

To determine if this is an Inkscape issue or a signcut issue, can you please list:

- your operating system and version
- your Inkscape version (see Help > About and copy paste it from there)
- the error you get, or what else happens when you try to use the signcut extension

your operating system and version- Windows 10 home
 Inkscape version - 0.14
SignCut 1.96.7Win
- the error you get, or what else happens when you try to use the signcut extension
the extension is not there any more. No error.

Hi Eric,

the Inkscape version cannot be correct. Would you please open the Help menu item in Inkscape and then click on 'About'. Then copy the version number of Inkscape from there (completely).

Which Windows version are you using?

Okay, so it doesn't crash (as you wrote in the title), but you cannot find the extension in the extensions menu?

Please be concise and detailed in your error descriptions, else we cannot help you.

I lost my hard drive on my Computer. had to reload both programs.
I reloaded the newest version of Inkscape 0.48.4 r9939
When I open Extensions Menu the export to SIgnCut is not there in this Version.
Is there a patch or an older version that I can download.
Windows 10 home version 1709 OSbuild 16299.251.
Thanks

Aha! So you had some really bad fortune... :-/

The newest version of Inkscape is 0.92.2 (by Monday, probably 0.92.3, we'll have a new version released).
0.48.4 is from 2012.

The signcut extension is not a part of Inkscape.
You need to install it separately.

So, the next thing you need to do is visit their website, and get the latest version of the extension.
Save it somewhere.
Then, find out which Inkscape version it is meant to work with - there seem to be problems with Inkscape 0.92.2.

Then, if you need to switch versions, completely uninstall Inkscape 0.48.4. Delete all folders that belong to it.

Then, visit https://inkscape.org/releases and select the Inkscape version you need for Signcut from the list. Install it.

Then, install the extension following its author's instructions.

Good luck!
