Use the extension 'GCodetools'. You may need to wait for Inkscape 0.92.3 for it to work correctly again.

Other options may come up when you search the web for 'inkscape export gcode'.

i am not a programmer, you would think this would be fixed, it is the main function of drawing is to be able to send to any controller. what seems easy for you ,is not so easy for others. don't feel bad I have been looking at others and they all have the same problem. you can draw, but cant generate g code.

Well, you can do both.
Only in the current version, 0.92.2, the gcodetools don't work perfectly, as it creates wrong orientation points.

You do not need to be a programmer to wait for Inkscape 0.92.3, to find another extension on the internet that will do what you need, or even to install the 0.92.x development version from the Inkscape.org website (where the issue with gcodetools is fixed, see https://inkscape.org/en/release/0.92.x/ )

Inkscape itself does not have the option of exporting gcode via file -> Save as. If you saw a video, or any other tutorial, that shows that being possible, the user must have been using a third-party extension that does not come with Inkscape.
