linked offsett issue

when I click "linked offset" it changes from selection to "node" editor. It used to work correctly. What did I do?

What Inkscape version and what OS?

When I activate linked offset, I get one control handle and the node-style pointer to drag the control handle. (Win8, 64bit, Inkscape .92.2)

If you see just one handle, try dragging on it.
