How to radius or round corners of irregular shapes

I created an irregular shape with sharp corners, or there are two lines that meet in a sharp corner. How to you radius or round the corner.

Currently, there's no way to do this parametrically yet. A Path effect is being created that will allow you to set the radius.

Currently, you need to either use the node tool and drag on the segments to make the corner look rounded, or you can combine / union with a part of a circle, or you can just use rounded outlines, if that's enough for your purpose (third tab in the fill and stroke dialog).

The B-Spline Path effect is an option, too, until the Fillet/Chamfer Path effect will be available in a future version of Inkscape (not 0.92.3).
