Can I warp objects and make it slant a little?

I want to warp my objects and slant it to the right. Example: Say I have a rectangle I warp it and turn it into a parallelogram. Another example: Say I have normal text, I warp it and turn it into italic text. That's how I want to warp objects. But I don't know how to.

click on the object, click again, and use the skew handles (you'll have the skew and rotate handles instead of the resizing ones at that point).
