Windows 10. Where is the program software located on my computer?

Asked by wayne Manring

I am trying to operate my laser engraver/cutter by using K40 Whisperer. It requires Inkscape version 0.92. When I try to import a file from Inkscape into K40 Whisperer I get an error message that it cannot find Inkscape. The settings file has a place to search for Inkscape and I cannot find the program even though it runs and I can make a simple file and save it as a SVG file.

On Linux or Mac type 'which inkscape' in a terminal to find out where the executable file lives.

On Windows, try to remember the installation path, it's usually C:\Program Files\Inkscape or C:\Program Files (x86)\Inkscape\ or use 'where inkscape.exe' or use 'where inkscape' on the command line.

Problem solved. I downloaded app, not program file. Program appears to function properly.
