My text disappeared

Asked by Ansley Whitetree

I used Inkscape to create a poster. When I saved the project and tried to reopen the file, all of the text was gone. I don't know how to fix this problem

Can you share the file?

Please use a file hoster of your choice (e.g. dropbox, googledrive or https://framadrop.org). Email attachments do not work here.

Ansley;
If you are newer to Inkscape as I am, I may have the answer. When creating text and then saving, you have to convert the text into a path before the file recognizes it as an object (if you would). To understand what I mean, just open a blank inkscape page, enter one word (text), go to (Path>object to path) then save the file in a generic folder/name. Then open it up from the file and it will appear. That was one of my first mistakes.

Hope that helped.
