Trouble configuring Calcomp Tablet

Asked by David

I have an old Calcomp 3 Tablet that works great and I use in other programs. I am having trouble getting it to work correctly with Inkscape.

I want to map it to a window in Inkscape equal to the digitizing area so that I can trace templates on the tablet and get accurate vector drawings of them? The digitizing area of the Tablet is 48" wide x 36" tall.

In Inkscape tablet works and scrolls smoothly in Mouse mode, but It maps to the entire screen. When I turn mouse mode off, I can get it to work only within the window, but it doesn't show the cursor, lags terribly, isn't scaled to the window, and the position of the cursor on the tablet doesn't match the position of the drawing in the window. Even when it is working, the input settings lists it as disabled. How can I get it working smoothly and accurately in WINDOW mode?

Please help? Having this work correctly would make my life SO much easier and more productive at work!!!
