How to put together a logo by using a combo of an imported object and then attaching text box to it

I am a new user looking to update the text of a logo - I have the logo objects which i am importing in and then wish to attach text box next to the imported objects to create the new logo.

The object import seems to be ok, but cant seem to put together a text box containing the text and then grouping with the imported objects - would appreciate any assistance.

Hi Zarqa,

can you please ask this question in the Inkscape forum at https://inkscapeforum.com? It offers support for file attachments, and it would be helpful if we saw your file.

Also, please include what 'can't seem to put together' means for you. What exactly do you do (step-by-step), and what exactly do you expect to happen?
