Change default window size

Asked by Philip Bosma

Hello, I would like to have the default window size one monitor wide (I have the desktop spread over two monitor screens) and neither of the menu options for saving the window size (per document or the last opened document) does what it implies. I use Inkscape 0.92. I tried saving a lot of documents with varying window sizes but none opened the next time in that same size.
This is quite annoying! Please help, a workaround is also welcome. Thanks!

Seems to be working here: Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06) Win 8.1 64.

Behavior I note:

In the save with document mode, the document needs to be opened via shell, not from another instance of Inkscape.

In the remember and use mode, documents launched from another instance will open at most recently closed position/size, but windows launched from shell use the position/size from the last remaining instance closed.

Hello, I have now some documents that 'remember' what size they were last in. What I did is choose the menu option 'Save the window size with each document' and next save the document again. This seems to do the trick. But I still don't understand that until now, for weeks it did not save anything at all . . . . .
Thanks for your concern!
