when i draw a circle it always has another blank circle inside. I want to get rid of the circle in the middle.

From your description, I think what you want to do is to remove the stroke color and to set a fill color.
To do so, right-click on the 'stroke' color field in the bottom left corner of the Inkscape window, and select 'swap fill and stroke'.

Also, you may want to read and play with one or two tutorials, to get the hang of Inkscape. See Help -> Tutorials for some that come with Inkscape.
Or you might want to take a quick look into a manual or beginners guide.
