font height in mm

Currently, you'll need to use a calculator. Convert values in mm (e.g. 10) by multiplying with 2.83 (= 72/25.4)

Usually, all number fields in Inkscape take simple calculations, but line-height and font-size don't...

Oh, I just remembered this has become a lot easier with 0.92: just double-click on the text tool's icon, then select a unit for measuring the font size.
