why can't i find a item that was saved in INKSCAPE

I had saved some files in INKSCAPE and they where saved as .PS so know I can't open them up there want me to uninstall and reinstall INKSCAPE then still can't open them up.
Why will INKSCAPE no open up for me

if you're on Windows, this FAQ item may help you solve your issue:

As a rule of thumb, it is recommended to always use 'Save as...' -> 'Inkscape SVG', and to export to other file formats by using 'Save a copy...' .

Any file format conversion will inevitably lose data, as every file format only supports a specific subset of features. So, if you do not want to lose data, always save as Inkscape SVG, and export using the Save a copy function.
