save settings

Is there any way to save document properties so that Inkscape opens up as I left off last time?
Or is there any way in edit preferences?
I am using ver .92.1
Running under Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

I would set up the document the way I like it, then save the file as default.svg in the directory:
../users/(your username)/AppData/roaming/inkscape/templates/

When Inkscape opens a new document, it should open that file. Since that file resides in the user profile, it should remain in effect even after re-installing/updating Inkscape.
