Print spooler disabled

I just downloaded Inkscape so I'm a rank beginner.
When I tried to print out my first test pattern I got a message saying print spooler was down. If I checked for printers, sometimes I would see my printer but couldn't print, other times I would get a "install new printer" message. I tried using another program but the error was still there.
I shut down the PC to see if that would cure the problem but no luck. At this point I can't print anything so I think I need to unload Inkscape to get back to normal.

Tried again and got a print but immediately got this message.
Spooler SubSystem App has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Inkscape then closed by itself.

That looks like a bug. You should use the "Bugs" section to report it.
First use the search function and look for a similar bug. If you find a similar bug, add your information, if there isn't a similar bug create a new report.
Specify what version of inkscape are you running, in which operating system and give all the details you can to help to track the origin of the problem.

This section is intended for usage questions and not for reporting bugs.
